Optical transmission is becoming widely used not only for the backbone of the communication infrastructure network, but also for the access network (FTTH, optical cable TV).
In the backbone network, as optical power and transmission capacity increase in the fiber channel, problems caused by contamination to the plug end face have become a major concern.
In optical transmission using analog signals, such as in optical cable television, degradation of transmission signals are being caused by the increased optical reflection due to the contamination of the fiber end surface.
To address these issues, JAE has developed the Simplex LC type FO-EX Series connector. In this series, the adapter is designed to separate in the center (front housing and rear housing), which enables cleaning of the end surface inside the optical connector plug without opening the case. This saves both time and effort.
In other connectors the end surface of the optical connector plug is placed deep inside the adapter. To totally clean the end surface, the optical connector plug had to be detached from the adapter, so cleaning was a time-consuming and troublesome task.
The FO-EX Series from JAE makes the procedure for cleaning much easier and faster.
* In the FO-EX Series, duplex type LC connector and simplex type SC connector are also available.
