SIM Card Connector "SF8 Series" Has Been Developed

In the mobile phone market, along with the acceleration and increasing volume of communication data, the number of phones that are conventional second generation (GSM), third generation (UMTS) and "dual terminal" (phones with both methods) has been growing.
These phones incorporate SIM (second generation) and UIM (third generation) IC cards to store the unique ID that specifies the phone number. At the same time, there is a constant demand for smaller electrical components to support the high functionality.
To answer this demand JAE has developed the SF8 Series tray type connector for plug in SIM card compatible with GSM 11.11 standard, achieving the industry’s lowest height and with 30 percent reduced volume compared to our previous product.
For SIM/UIM card connectors there are several methods for insertion, such as block type, hinge type, etc. Now a tray type connector satisfying the requirements for a SIM/UIM card with superior card insertion operability has been developed.

• Tray type connector for GSM 11.11 standard plug-in SIM card
• Low profile structure: 1.55mm height, 16.65mm width, 19.30mm depth (26.2mm when tray is inserted)
• Available in standard A type and reverse B type, to accommodate different mounting needs.
• Connecter main body is provided in embossed tape (compatible with automated mounting and second reflow), card tray provided in trays (tray is attached to connector main body after main body is mounted to board)
• 4 grounding hold-downs ensure EMI/ESD control, and add strength to help prevent intermittence caused by dropping
• Retention lock on tray provides click feeling when mated, easy tray positioning during card insertion/removal, and keeps tray attached to the main connector body.
