Recently, the multi-functionality of mobile phones has advanced with the inclusion of high definition cameras, one-segment, GPS functions, etc., and also by the expansion of devices such as smartphones which incorporate a computer like function. In addition, there is a demand for slimmer devices. So for the connectors used in those devices, slimmer and more space-saving products are required.
To meet this need JAE has developed an FPC connector with the industries narrowest contact pitch, 0.2mm. By realizing this narrow pitch, the mounting space for the connector has been minimized which will contribute to more design freedom for customers.

Mobile phones have been evolving with the inclusion of functions like cameras, audio players, one segment TV and various other applications such as GPS in addition to the original phone function.And devices incorporating both phone and computer functions, such as smart phones and tablet PCs, are now increasingly common.Data and software for these devices are mainly exchanged and distributed through small memory cards, so connectors to connect the cards and devices have become essential.
Leading the industry, JAE has developed the "ST* Series" connectors for the microSD^TM card (Note 1), which holds a major share of the small memory card market. The ST* Series has expanded to include four types of mechanical variations (Note 2): hinge type, tray type, push-push type, and block type. Now with the development of the ST10 Series, which has a volume reduced by 20%, we further expand the available variations of small memory card connectors and make possible even more design freedom for customers.

In display devices such as LCD TV, the volume and speed of the signals transmitted have grown rapidly with the advances in high-definition performance. Our FI-R Series high-speed graphic transmission connectors are widely used, not only for LCD TVs but also for the displays of various devices such as complex copy machines, medical devices, etc.
Now, in addition to the conventional FI-RE Series with side un-lock buttons, JAE has developed the "FI-RE-HLS-M Series" cable connector with the un-lock button on the top for improved operability and workability with the FI-R Series. This addition to the line-up will allow for even more design freedom for customers.

A recent trend in automotive electronics is the increasing popularity of car navigation systems with multi-media functions, and these high-function devices are incorporating ever more entertainment features. Applications in motorcycles have also started to appear.
With these advances there is a demand to connect car navigation systems with portable devices like digital audio players in order to enjoy the music stored in them.
To answer this demand, JAE has developed the "MX39 Series" USB 2.0 transmission compatible automotive connector.
The MX39 Series connector not only satisfies USB 2.0 transmission performance, but it was also specifically designed to have the robust environment-resistance required for an automotive connector.
And in the cable, shielded wire developed for automotive applications is used.The connector's heat, shock and vibration resistant features that make it ideal as an automotive connector also make it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

JAE has already developed and expanded the "ST* Series" connectors for the microSD^TM card, which holds a major share of the small memory card market. However in order to meet the market demand for an even lighter, slimmer, lower profile, and smaller connector, the ST1 Shrink Type has now been developed. This hinge-type connector maintains high mechanical and electrical performance but with a 40% reduction in volume and a 20% reduction in mounting area from the previous product, and an overall smallest-in-class size in the industry.
